Introduction to World Wide Web: The World Wide Web, abbreviated as WWW and commonly known as the Web, is a system of interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the Internet. With a web browser, one can view web pages that may contain text, images, videos, and other multimedia and navigate between them via hyperlinks.

To use the Web, in addition to an Internet connection, a user needs a special piece of software called a Web Browser (such as Internet Explorer). The browser acts as the graphical interface between the user and the Internet – it sends the necessary command to request data from other computers and then format them for the user’s screen. Documents that are formatted using hypertext markup language (HTML) contain tag lines that inform the browser how to format them.
